  • - Senior Consultant Ophthalmologist and Director of Vitreoretinal Surgery, Medical Retina and Uveitis at International Eye Cataract Retina Centre, Singapore

    - Graduated from the University of Birmingham, UK with an Honours research degree in Neuroscience (1999) and his undergraduate MBChB medical degree (2002)

    - Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists of London (2011).

    - Triple fellowship trained:

    (1) Fellowship in Vitreoretinal Surgery in the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield, UK

    (2) Clinical-Academic Fellowship in Vitreoretinal Surgery, University of Auckland, New Zealand

    (3) Fellowship in Medical Retina and Uveitis at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London, the oldest eye hospital in the world and the largest in Europe

  • - Formerly a Consultant Vitreoretinal Surgeon in the UK National Health Service (NHS)

    - Previously an Associate Consultant for three years at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital and Jurong Medical Centre. For two and a half years, he was the only full-time fellowship-trained retinal specialist in the hospital, and during this time he was on-call daily for out-of-hours and emergency retinal problems and trained a team of three Consultants and Associate Consultants in retinal surgery

    - Co-authored his first book ‘Foundations of Intraocular Microsurgery: Principles for Elite Performance’ which deals with the foundational skills needed to make ophthalmic microsurgery safe

    - Honorary Fellow at the Birmingham Institute for Glaucoma Research where he has worked on optimising patient safety in ophthalmic surgery, ophthalmic anaesthesia and elite performance in ophthalmic surgery

Dr Crosby’s approach

Dr Crosby sees patients not just from Singapore but also from all over South-East Asia, Australasia and Europe, including patients with complex problems referred to him by other ophthalmologists. He enjoys spending time with his patients in order to solve their problems, whether simple or complex.

His approach is to spend time carefully listening to the patient and conducting a thorough examination, supported by investigations and imaging technology. He strives to provide a friendly, tailored and evidence-based approach to patient care and prides himself on providing clear explanations and involving the patient fully in all decision making.

Since many of his patients are based internationally, he collaborates closely on the management of his patients with his extensive network of colleagues both locally and around the world to ensure that his patients receive continuity of care.
